We carry select Habu yarns and kits year-round at Purls Tucson, and shown below are the newest
additions to inventory. We have long loved the stainless steel yarns, and now they come in more colors!
Give these yarns a try, and you'll be hooked like we are.

Item #: A-20 or A-21 1/20 silk stainless steel Content:
69% silk, 31% stainless steel (core) Yardage: approx. 622 yds.) Weight: lace/weaving Suggested needle size for knitting:
US no. 2-3 with 2 strands
Originally used as an industrial yarn to create oil filters, now they are available as weavers',
knitters' and artists' yarn! The core is stainless steel and silk is wrapped around the core. Because of the stainless steel,
there is a memory in the yarn. You can create something. Twist it around! It will stay in that shape unless you straighten
it out.
It is easiest if you knit this yarn in 2 strands, however a lace stitch in a single strand is beautiful. If
you work in 2 strands, you will be a variegation in the fabric. Works fine as a warp yarn for weavers, but it is a bit tricky,
so if you are just starting to use this yarn, go as a weft yarn first.

Item #: A-144 1/15 cotton linen spiral Content:
35% cotton, 15% linen, 30% nylon, 20% polyester Yardage: approx. 466 yds. Weight: lace/weaving suggested needle
size for knitting: US no. 1-2 for single strand
Very light, but an expressive yarn actually. Try weaving with it. The
color comes out from in between the warp. A simple stokinette stitch will create a beautiful scarf or a garment also.

Item #: A-148 1/17.6 wool stainless steel Content:
75% wool, 25% stainless stteel Yardage: approx. 547 yds. weight:
lace/weaving suggested needle size for knitting: US no. 2-3 for single strand, no. 10 & up for 2 strands ad more
Like
silk stainless steel yarn (A-20 & 21), the core is stainless steel and wool is wrapped around the core. Because of the
stainless steel, there is a memory in the yarn. You can create something. Twist it around! It will stay in that shape unless
you straighten it out.
It is easiest if you knit this yarn in 2 strands, however a lace stitch in a single strand
is beautiful. If you work in 2 strands, you will be a variegation in the fabric. Works fine as a warp yarn for weavers, but
it is a bit tricky, so if you are just starting to use this yarn, go as a weft yarn first.

Item #: A-160 1/21 copper bamboo Content: 67% bamboo,
33% copper Yardage: approx. 650 yds. weight: lave/weaving suggested
needle size for knitting: US no. 1-3 for single or double strand
We call this COPPER-BOO! This is an opposite of silk
or wool stainless steel yarns. The fine copper wire is wrapped around the bamboo core. Because of the bamboo, the yarn is
still very soft, but can keep the shape because of the copper. Not so strong as a warp yarn for weavers, please keep it to
weft.

Item #: A-172 spiral slub Content: 51% wool, 20%
polyester, 29% nylon Yardage: approx. 435 yds. weight: lace/weaving suggested needle size for knitting: US no. 1
or 2 for single strand. No. 7 & up for 2-3 strands.
Unusual fine boucle yarn. Beautiful to knit in single. Extremely
light, but much color and texture within.
